Abstract
AT SELECTED MEDICAL FACILITIES IN VINH PHUC PROVINCE, 2024
Objectives: To describe the current status of rehabilitation (PHCN) activities among inpatients at several medical facilities in Vinh Phuc Province in 2024.
Participants and
Methods: A cross-sectional study combining quantitative and qualitative approaches was conducted on all inpatients treated for ≥ 3 days, who had completed treatment and were preparing for discharge at four provincial hospitals in Vinh Phuc.
Results: The study included 374 patients with a mean age of 56.8 ± 11.5 years; females accounted for 61%, and 98.7% had health insurance. The most common diagnoses were lumbar/cervical disc herniation (32.6%) and synovitis/tenosynovitis (28.4%). A total of 989 rehabilitation services were prescribed, most commonly electrical stimulation (44.8%) and passive exercise (17.7%). The rate of adherence to medical orders was 89.9%, with the highest non-adherence observed for infrared therapy (33.3%). The main reasons included personal commitments, perceived lack of treatment effectiveness, and a desire to change techniques.
Conclusions: Electrical stimulation was the most frequently prescribed rehabilitation service, and most patients adhered well to medical orders. Strengthening communication, counseling, and tailoring treatment schedules are needed to improve adherence and treatment effectiveness.
