CLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF BEHAVIOR DISTURBANCES IN PATIENTS WITH MIXED DISORDERS OF CONDUCT AND EMOTION WITH ADOLESCENT

Abstract
Objectives: To describe the clinical characteristics of conduct disorder in patients with mixed disorders of conduct and emotion with onset in adolescence.

Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 86 patients diagnosed with mixed disorders of conduct and emotion who were from 10-19 years of age, treated at the National Institute of Mental Health – Bach Mai Hospital from August 2021 to March 2023.
Results: Patients with behavioural disturbances accounted for 53.5% of the population. Up to 45.3% of patients were brought to examination after the symptoms had manifested for 12 to 24 months. The most common behaviour disturbance category was “often violate age-appropriate behaviour norms”, which accounted for 68,6%. On severity, 45.3% of the patients showed moderate bahaviour disturbance. The most common behaviour disorder presentation environment was at home, with 97.7% of patients presenting in this setting.
Conclusions: Behavioural disturbances are common and noticable symptoms in mixed disorders of conduct and emotion in adolescents, generally patients present symptoms at home, they often show violation of age-appropriate behaviour norms, with moderate severity.
